Middle School girls and Middle School teacher Mary Brownell were recently featured in a video produced by the international program iEARN about the value of global student collaboration. Launched in 1988 as a pilot project linking schools in New York State and Moscow, iEarn now involves thousands of educators and millions of young people worldwide who are working together on school-based projects via the Internet. The video celebrates the program’s 25th anniversary and includes interviews with participating teachers. Mary Brownell is featured several times as are our MS girls. Brownell has incorporated iEARN projects into her teaching for several years, seeing the program as an excellent way to reinforce school subjects while helping her students deepen their understanding of what young people in other cultures think about the same issues.
