Midland County, Texas - Midland County Judge Mike Bradford(Jan, 2007 - Present) - Probate Court: Probate Court is the procedure regarding a decedent’s estate. Probate is a legal document allowing for steps to assign the deceased person’s property as stated in a will to a representative, usually called the executor(ix). The executor’s role is having legal power to dispose of the testator’s assets as stated in will after all claims and other bills have been settled. In some cases, the probate process may be contested and will be reassigned to a County Court-At-Law Judge. The Honorable County Judge, Mike Bradford, holds Probate Court on the 11th Floor of the Midland County Courthouse at 500 North Loraine Street Midland County 79701. He is respectful of others’ feelings and emotions while handling a loved-one’s estate. And because we cannot offer legal advice, the Law Library is available as a resource center and located on the first floor of the County Courthouse or contact a qualified attorney of your choice. The Courthouse is open Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. except on county holidays. Judge Bradford is required to attain a minimum of sixteen hours judicial education hours each fiscal year to serve in capacity of Texas Probate Court Judge in Midland County. Judge Mike Bradford also presides over the Midland County Commissioners’ Court and has no correlation to Probate Court. County Judge Michael R. Bradford Judge Mike Bradford assumed the office of Midland County Judge in January 2007 and serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Midland County. Before that, he served eight years as a Midland County Commissioner for Precinct 2. He balances his elected responsibilities with his position as the founder and current President of the Natural Resources Foundation of Texas and his ongoing interest as an oil and gas producer. Originally from Fort Worth, Judge Bradford came to Midland in the 1970’s to work at First National Bank and has remained in Midland ever since. He is a graduate of Texas Christian University with both Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Business Administration. He is also a graduate of the Bank Marketing School. Judge Bradford’s varied interests in oil and gas, banking, politics and education have led him to serve on many boards and commissions over the years. He includes among his valued achievements an enjoyable tenure as director of the Texas Lyceum Association, where he is still an active alumnus and served as Vice President of the TCU National Alumni Board. Also, he is the past Chair of the Texas Conference of Urban Counties, which is comprised of the 36 largest Counties in Texas, and represents over 90% of the state’s population. He was the Texas Railroad Commission appointee to Co-Chair the State Energy Policy (for independent’s), and a Governor’s appointee to the Texas Finance Commission.
