Midweek Music, Epiphany Edition! 1/6/2015 By Ellen based on This Year by JJ Heller Yes, I had to retype 2014 and change it to 2015 just now. Ugh, change is tough, isnt it? We all deal with change on a constant basis, and it is still difficult for our human nature. We all know God has changes in store for our church family in the coming year - some expected and probably (hopefully!) many wonderful ones we cannot yet see. I love this surprise video gift from JJ Heller from New Years Day, and pray you will, too. The lyrics are so in line with what I am praying for our church and community, and I hope you will join me in that. I was reminded at my Bible Study this morning of an important truth: God is always making things new, and He always wants to work through us, if we will let Him. How I hope that my stubbornness to stay in my comfortable old wont keep God from doing something new in my life --- sometimes I pray for God to do things in me and through me, and then in the end I am too fearful or too lazy (or disobedient!) to want to follow through. So, Church! Should we dread the changes coming? Or can we step into it with the powerful faith and belief gifted us by the presence of the Holy Spirit? I believe God is calling us to take Him at His Word: See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
