Midwest News would like to correct a statement made during our Tuam Municipal District Profile on last Friday’s evening ‘s - Evening Edition programme. Independent candidate in the Tuam Municipal district Thomas (TP) Niland was wrongly associated with the Labour party and former labour deputy Colm Keaveney. Mr Niland would like it to be made clear that he has never been in any political party as he doesnt believe that party politics represents the people adequately or transparently. He has never had any association with Ex labour TD Colm Keaveney nor was he co-opted onto Galway county council for labour following the last election. It was independent Shaun Cunniffe who was co-opted on to the authority at that time.
