Might be old news to some but I want to share what I have. I did not know Methodist Fayette had moved up its closing date till late last night. Below is Mayor Taylors response to my request for an update. Dear Commissioner, Yesterday I was contacted by William Kenley, CEO of Methodist Germantown, who oversees Methodist-Fayette Hospital, and was told that the hospital will cease operations on March 27. This includes the emergency room. The facility will remain open with the current doctors and staff who rent facilities until the end of June. At that time, the facility will be totally closed and the doctors will need to find other space. Methodist has said they would like to be a part of any transition. I will keep them informed and include them in discussions as we move forward. Next week are our regular committee meetings. Monday at Health and Welfare, we will discuss the closing and also details on ambulance additions. As more information becomes available, I will keep you informed.
