Mike Brown may not have been a goody-too-shoes, but what happened to law enforcement subduing suspects or would-be criminals versus using deadly force? I dont get it. Its still pathetic... On another note, our black children have to understand that our margin for error in this country is slim to none. And it is our responsibility to teach them a new lesson. Clearly, it doesnt take much for a black man to be gunned down like a wild animal loose in Americas streets by cops or otherwise (racist) civilian vigilantes, so why give them an inch? Its high time we teach our children the reality of America, not its idealism. Put aside your so called rights as though youre assuredly entitled to being perceived as a naturally good citizen or law abiding citizen like your average white American counterpart. Instead, take responsibility for yourself, your livelihood, and your familys peace of mind. Be mindful, thoughtful, and practical in your behavior, because there are consequences for poor choices; unfortunately, more so adverse for the black person in America, especially the black (male). Finally, the point Im stressing is that it is imperative that we all understand that equality for the black person in America remains a work in progress even today. And may our children learn that they too have a role to play in its fulfillment going forward. Godspeed.
