Mike Conley Injury: Updates on Grizzlies Stars Wrist and Return Memphis Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley Jr. sat out most of the second half of Mondays 103-94 win over the Orlando Magic with a wrist injury. Ari Alexander of WMC Action News 5 reported the news: Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley missed much of the second half of the Grizzlies 103-94 win over the Orlando Magic after he sprained his left wrist in the first half, according to Conley. Conley said the injury happened as he caught his hand on an opponents jersey coming off a screen. Conley recently missed two games after injuring both of his ankles. He said hell take a wait and see approach for Tuesdays game in Dallas against the division rival Mavericks. Conley most recently dealt with sprains to both his ankles, which was the first bout with injuries that really hampered the 27-year-old this season. The Grizzlies cant afford to lose their floor general for long. Conley has supreme quickness that translates well to both ends of the floor, underrated scoring ability and is a proficient distributor. Per Basketball Insiders Steve Kyler, Conley is driven by being overlooked: Conley is a big reason Memphis has remained near the top of the loaded Western Conference in 2014-15. Theres a delicate balance to strike regarding Conleys return, though. Whereas in the weaker East, where resting star players or easing them back into the lineup is a luxury for the top contenders, every game in the West bears more significance because of the conferences superior depth. Memphis also doesnt have anyone able to emulate Conleys multifaceted game. It will be up to Beno Udrih to step up and do his best to fill in for Conley. More of the onus will be on the star frontcourt of Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol to pick up the slack, along with new prominent contributor Jeff Green. from Bleacher Report - Front Page ift.tt/1JxDILX ift.tt/eA8V8J
