Mike Rowe talked about this this morning on “Fox News” and I can vouch for him on it. America’s problem of unemployment or underemployment is in part due to and poster and a theology that says work smart not hard. (Now mind you I am not saying it is in whole due to this, I do believe our current economy and many other political things have helped but this is an ever growing part of the problem too) This thought process implies that if you can get an education rather than a trade you will be better off than everyone else. Well after decades of this kind of advice the job force is over staffed with more educated people than there are jobs, and fewer skilled people than needed. It has also started a trend of “that job is not good enough for me” kind of thinking. We need skilled laborers now more than ever. I see the number of trained, skilled professional dwindling every day. There are too many bosses and way too few workers to accomplish the job. Hey one day this will cause the pay scale to tip in favor of the workers. Think about this when you look at a path for you and or you children in the school/work force. Get a master and have no money or learn a trade and earn money.
