Mike Shore update: Mikes kidney function is impaired permanently. Although his kidney function should remain stable at this point if he takes care of his health - his doctor was pretty stern with him about this issue. His BP is still running a bit high, but below stroke level consistently now. Diabetes is a different story. Because of the extensive physical work he did over the summer with our church build and renovations his diabetes has become fragile and his greatest problem. his A1C is 9.9 which is unacceptably high and has created the organ damage incurred up to this point in time. Mike is our pastor and shepherd - but His doctor was adamant that no longer will he be at liberty to do the physical build. That job will fall to someone else God calls to oversee it. Pray with us that God provides laborers to complete the last 5% of this task. If Mike remains stable - he should get to come home tomorrow evening. I will say - I am quite impressed with Dr Munier and Mikes Deaconess Gateway team as they have worked with his Methodist Hospital/IU Med team in Indy so well. IU called me personally to let me know they were pleased at the care Mike was given here and would have done the same. A Huge thanks to my daughter Shari Shore Devine for taking my place as Mikes advocate and caregiver - an incredibly big job. Huge thanks to my Mom for coming every day to care for me. Yesterday morning i fell flat on my stomach and am really sore again. Otherwise - I feel more well overall, am healing and can swallow. Its really nice to be able to swallow liquids and soft foods again without puking ;) And Im glad for the 20+ lb weight loss. Little blessings... :) Thank you for continuing to fight for us in prayer and hold off the enemy by your worship of our One True God. God Wins.
