Mike Smith Hello, PLEASE HELP! I am looking for some advice and have some questions about drumming. Mainly for experiences drummers/ intermediate drummers. There are times I will just get on the drums and play and everything sounds amazing, Im sharp, everything is playing and hit accurately, I just feel like I am superman of drumming ( which I know Im not) but then there are days that I just play the exact opposite. Its really frustrating. I am very dedicated and I play 1-2 hours EVERY day. I am a self taught drummer and just started playing again this past may. I make sure to practice every day. Is this normal? Some times I feel like giving up and on the good days I love it. Am I the only one? I want to be a good drummer so bad. Not just to be good but when everything is played right and sounds good its so much fun! Anyways I just want to know if this is normal and a part of drumming. I do have a bad set I notice when I play a nice drum set with good sound I perform better. I have been trying to learn how to use a metronome properly I dont know if there is a specific way to use one I think the hardest thing for me to figuring that out is what speed to play it at, for example I can set it to play 30 BPM but in reality I am playing it at 90 bpm. If anyone can help guid me to the path of becoming a good drummer please let me know.
