Mike and I cannot thank each of you enough for the outpouring of love, kind words, support, thoughts & prayers. Thanks again to nanny and auntie for driving three hours up to mountains to get kids and check on us and bring them home. Such a releif!! Surgery was successful and now is the hard part. We just got home and are going to try to get some much needed rest. Havent slept since Saturday! It is going to be a long hard road but I guess if any family can fight that--its ours! I am so thankful just to have him here. His leg was broken in three spots. One spot they couldnt repair in surgery because its on nerve and it could paralyze him, but this WILL heal on its own. The others were horrific! One of the breaks fractured into pieces and went into joints and the other was the one we actually saw sticking out of his leg when he fell. (Gross) Surgeon said this one was literally smashed!! They put a steel plate in and ten screws. A splint for two weeks until it has time to heal a bit then a cast for 6-8 weeks. Timing of course sucked because not only were we having a little overdue family vacation but we were celebrating mikes new job he just started. If it wasnt for shitty luck we would have none. But thats OK! We are here and like always we will stick together and kick a*%! Love to you all xoxo from both of us
