Mike at GameStop asked that I fill out the survey you get on the receipt, seeing as theyre supposed to be getting two of those a day. At one point, they ask you to describe your experience. This is what I wrote. Ive known Mike for years, since moving to this town in late 2009. My first visit to GameStop introduced me to a man who displayed a passion for the medium he represented... a passion not found in the world of retail today unless you encounter a man-child working at any Toys R Us that hasnt edged as close to being a dystopian warehouse as it can without paying its few remaining employees below minimum wage for their already part-time contribution to the store. Had I known he actually didnt have an apartment, but instead hangs upside down from his talons in the back room of the store, just out of the cameras field of view, I would have been more suspicious of his intent. I thought he spent so much time at the store because its mostly populated by Mike and the dust mites that try to avoid eye contact with him (they dont have much to talk about anymore), or perhaps because its difficult to find people to work at GameStop who dont assume before theyre hired that its a job full of free games and Japanese candy. I didnt know how wrong I was, for it was mere months before employees began vanishing overnight. Mikes eyes grew dark and fatigued, no doubt from the countless hours spent hunting his prey. Soon, he was the only entity that haunted those walls, tarnished by the foul aroma of the Starbucks restrooms that shared a ventilation system with the purveyor of digital reality escapism. I was lucky to survive in the world as I know it now, narrowly avoiding the realm which the Mike strides within and throughout. Many say he haunts the Smiths Shopping Plaza, but I dare not contemplate it when in the area. Oh, and I found out Watch Dogs isnt coming until June, which would have pissed me off much worse than it did, but Junes near my birthday, so thats fine. And I picked up South Park: Stick of Truth. Shits dope, yo.
