Mikey sez....... 1. 30 AWG was the spec supplied to us on the Falcon 7 from our ex-motor chair. 2. It, the TSR D3 and the Retro Hawk being a Chinese made arm, of course it probably is a size that doesnt match the 30 AWG exactly. 3. The bottom line is the resistance of the Retro Hawk is the same as the previously approved FK motors. 4. All arms Ive checked have had at least 65 turns. 5. On 1 arm, one pole had 66 turns. 6. Checking the resistance was to confirm the wire size wasnt any larger than the previously approved F7 and TSR D3. 1. Oh here we go with the ex motor chair fiddle. What does that have to do with ANYTHING currently. In the past the arms were DEWOUND and COUNTED and then the wire measured. All FK motors in the past were found to be 65 turns on ALL three poles and of 30 ga wire. This current situation has NOTHING to do with the ex motor chair. If the arms are being found to be short on winds and of incorrect wire size...... that has NOTHING to do with the ex motor chair. 2. Again....if wire is dewound, measured and checked against a wire chart.... this is how you determine the wire ga. The TM rules STATE...... 65 turns of 30 GA AWG wire. If the MFG ordered arms with this specifications and they are now found to be different.....the motors are OUT of spec plain and simple and the MFG has a problem with their supplier. 3. Resistance has NOTHING to do in this situation. Different blanks and blank shapes even with the same number of turns and wire size will have different resistance. Even if a RH arm has higher resistance than a Falcon 7 arm it could still have higher resistance even with less turns and different wire size due to the different blank shapes between the two motor factories in China. 4. While Mikey may have found all the arms he has checked to be of 65 turns....how many has he dewound and how many has the CURRENT motor chair dewound. Mikey IS NOT the motor chair. 5. On one arm you found a pole to have 66 turns. Wait a minute..... you just claimed ALL you deowund was 65 turns. 66 turns is OUT OF SPEC. The rules state 65 turns.... no minimum or maximum. Remember Mikey...... when we and including me at the time...... one BOD member and the rest agreed.... wanted NO minimums or maximums listed in the motor specs and for each individual motor at the time. 66 turns is out of spec. Just as 63,64 turns. 6. Again..... resistance has NOTHING to do with arm specs or legality. There is NOTHING in the rules nor has there ever been in regards to resistance when it comes to motor specs or even being used to determine motor/armature legality.
