In civilian usage, it is often seen with police and rescue teams, along with exploration, security and even light transport, though it is not really suitable as a cargo hauler without modification to the doors and interior floor arrangement. The large-diameter wheels are driven by a high-torque electric motor in each wheel hub, all powered by a methane-fueled gas turbine and generator. This gives it the power for most off-road uses, while allowing reasonable on-road use, even given the vehicle’s size. Like most hybrid-electric vehicles, the gas turbine and generator can be used to provide power, equivalent to a single power module, for a number of hours equal to (range/speed). This gives it a cost advantage over nearly every other similar manufacturer on the Chinese Arm, as none of its competitors have comparable facilities.
