Mild temperatures in store for end of the week Pleasantly mild temperatures are in the forecast for the end of the week for many areas across the central and eastern U.S. Another storm system will move onshore over the Pacific Northwest today and travel inland to the northern High Plains by Thursday. Rain and higher elevation snow over the Pacific Northwest and northern Rockies are likely during the middle of the week in response to this front. Like its most-recent predecessor, this frontal system is not bringing in an Arctic air mass behind it. However, there is an Arctic front in southern Canada that will be moving south by Thursday night, and this front will deliver much colder temperatures to the Northern Plains and Upper Midwest by the end of the week.
