Mildenhall News From RDC Promotions: End of Saloon Stockcar season round up and thank you Following the conclusion of the 2013 Saloon Stockcar season at Mildenhall Stadium, all at RDC would like to thank those who have contributed to a quite fantastic year for the formula which many believe to be the finest in our sport at present. Our season certainly ended in the best possible fashion with our best domestic meeting entry of the season and after a somewhat tricky white and yellow grade heat we were treated to three superb slices of Saloon Stockcar shale action and again we’d like to thank all the drivers and their teams for their support of this meeting, especially given the rather rotten weather in the days leading up to the meeting (and again we want to thank our special friend Mrs Nature for looking after us Sunday). Congratulations go to former Ministox RDC Drivers Champion 306 Daniel Parker, tipped as one to watch at our awards night earlier this year, who completed a quite incredible first full season in the formula by winning the Mildenhall Championship in a season which also saw him crowned English Champion, a race regarded by many as the race of the season in the formula. Congratulations also to former Mildenhall Champion 641 Willie Skoyles Jnr whose final win last weekend saw him grab second in the championship while the very dedicated 730 Dean Mayes completed a fine first season in the Saloons with an excellent third in the Mildenhall points and returning legend 116 Diggy Smith completed the top four in a season which also saw him capture the elusive National Championship in another superb title race at Mildenhall. We enjoyed the company of no less than 75 Saloon Stockcar drivers at Mildenhall this season with an average entry of 29 cars while our average turnout for domestic meetings was 23 cars, a number made perhaps a little more decent when you consider our first two meetings were staged in some of the worst conditions we have ever faced and one of our summer fixtures was sandwiched between two of the biggest championship weekends of the season. A special thanks to the aforementioned Parker and Mayes plus 360 Carl Waterfield and 570 Simon Venni who maintained a 100 per cent attendance record at Mildenhall in 2013, competing at all 11 meetings. Plans are well underway for our 2014 fixtures for the formula at Mildenhall where we hope to run the first of 10 meetings on Saturday, March 8 and we are hopeful that our fixtures next season will be more evenly spread through the year than they were in 2013. The highlight of our season will be the 32nd staging of the European Championship which is scheduled for Saturday, June 7 and will be the highlight of Dirty Weekend 2014. Thanks again to all the Saloon Stockcar drivers, their families and teams for their support during 2013, we hope you enjoy your well deserved closed season and we look forward to your company again in March 2014. Saloon Stockcars 2014 White and Yellow Grade Series Points Last weekend saw the 2014 White and Yellow Grade series kick off for the Saloon Stockcars at Mildenhall and below are the initial scores after the first round. The top 28 drivers in the chart after the final round will be eligible for the series final which will see the grid determined by the points from the series. 130 Joe Gladden 44pts 74 Tam Tweedie 23 569 James Radcliffe 18 610 Trent Artherton 17 391 Jake Banwell 12 23 Lee Pearce 11 519 Stephen Lawrence 10 144 Daniel Bullock 9 22 Karl Petters 8 2 Paul Tuppen 5 115 Scott Aldridge 5 192 Robert Heanes 5 225 John Englestone 5 317 Dwayne Powell 5 417 Fred Powell 5
