I couldn’t write during our last 4 days in trenches and since then have been rather seedy (ill) - just a very slight dose of “flue” and had a jolly good old slack for three days in bed. Am still in bed but will be all right to go into trenches again on Sunday I expect. Thanks ever so much for sending all these things - the cake was splendid - well received! I am telling my man to send Jack a couple of boxes of some very special cigarettes which I intended sending him last xmas - in the excitement of being (fired) out here at 2 minutes notice. I’m afraid I forgot all about it. Leave is cancelled I’m afraid so my chances of getting Home are absolutely nil for some time to come! Cheero Yours always Billie
