Militants Killed In Tral Identified: Police The police on Friday claimed to have identified the slain militants who died during an encounter with police in Tral down here last evening. “The slain militants have been identified as Shiraz Ganai son of Mohammad Sultan Ganai resident of Panzren, Shabir Bargat @ Haider son of Mohammad Shafi Bargat resident of Hina Bagla, Kalakot Rajauri and Aasif Bhat resident of Chinigam,” an official statement stated. Giving details about Sahiraz, police said he was involved in transportation of militants involved in the killing of ASI Farooq, killing of two SPOs outside Pulwama Court and of four police personnel in Shopian District. To carry out these attacks Shiraz transported militants in his car, they said. “In this regard Case FIR number 129/2013 and 42/2914 in Police station Pulwama under section 301,307,7/27, case FIR No 130/2014 in police station Shopian were registered against the killed militant Shiraz Ganai. He joined active militancy Maaz group LeT recently,” police said. “Shabir Bargat @ Haider son of Mohammad Shafi Bargat resident of Hina Bagla, Kalakot Rajauri was active since 2010,” police said. They said he was an LeT commander, adding that initially he was associated with JeM Altaf Baba group and later joined HM and recently had joined LeT Maaz group. “Shabir Bargat was involved in the killing of Nasir Mir of Pinjura, weapon snatching at Parguchi guard in Shopian and dacoity in Rajpora JK Bank Ruhama,” police said. “Aasif Bhat resident of Chinigam was involved in grenade throwing at Sangam in 2013. He was an OGW of LeT commander Ayatollah @ Maaz and had joined militant outfit recently,” police said. CNS report Two among the three militants killed had joined militant outfit Hizbul Mujhadeen and according to their family members both the youth were living a normal life till they left their homes. One of the slain militant Shiraz Ahmed Ganaie son of Muhammad Sultan Ganaie resident of Panjran Pulwama was studying journalism in Islamic University Awantipora and had recently qualified NET. “My son Shiraz was M.A in Economics and was presently studying journalism in Islamic University Awantipora. It was his fourth semester while recently he had rejected a government job,” his father Muhammad Sultan told CNS adding that Shiraz was living a normal before joining militancy on November 11 this month. “We are well off and deal in fruit industry. I failed to understand what prompted my son to join militant ranks when I was providing him every comfort of life. I am not exaggerating and in fact, we are billionaires,” he said but added that before joining militancy, Shiraz was picked up by SOG personnel for a day, but was released after few hours of questioning. Shiraz was buried in his native grave yard at Panjran in presence of hundreds of people who bid him adieu with tearful eyes. His funeral prayers were offered by Jamat-i-Islami leader Advocate Zahid Ali. Another slain militant who hails from Chenigam Kulgam also had joined HM last Friday. “My brother Asif Ahmed Bhat left the home soon after Chenigam encounter last Friday which claimed the lives of two militants. In that encounter his friend Manzoor Ahmed Malik was killed and soon after this episode he without informing anybody left the home,” Abdul Rashid Bhat, the brother of slain militant told CNS adding that they were not in touch with Asif. “My brother was submissive and was working at a shop in Sangam.
