Military spouse unemployment is up to three times that of their civilian counterparts. Fifty-five percent of spouses said they need to work, and 90 percent said they want to work. Military spouses face limited employment opportunities where troops are stationed. Even spouses with advanced degrees struggle to find work. You can help these military spouses by volunteering as a career mentor in the Military Spouse eMentor Program. You don’t need to have military service or be a military spouse yourself - simply a desire to share your experience and encourage military spouses as they search for a new job or seek to further develop their careers.
