Miller has almost been home a month - wanted to give a quick update. I am POSITIVE his behavior issues were related to him going through a growth spurt, being a puppy, and having few boundaries. We have been doing a lot of work and he is such a HAPPY and HEALTHY (enormous) guy. He is absolutely flourishing getting lots of exercise and socialization and has YET to meet a stranger (so much for he can never be around strangers...whatever...) We have had zero instances of him even thinking about biting? It really makes me question what happened? He and the girls are getting along fairly well - they need occasional breaks from his constant on-the-go puppy attitude, but he is taking direction very well from his pack. We have been doing a lot of personal space/boundary setting, he is not allowed to jump, must sit for the things he wants, and it has helped his self esteem tremendously. Daily water play has been a must. Though I struggle with puppies, I am trying to remember to take deep breaths (and laugh) and teach him rather than just expect him to know. I love this guy and will only adopt him to a family that will love him the same. {feel good. do good. lovemesomeMiller.}
