General Mills is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to provide manufacturing leadership to deliver a world-class operation. Manufacturing Supervisors, known as Team Leaders, lead, motivate, and develop employees to achieve outstanding manufacturing results, while leveraging Continuous Improvement (Lean/TPM) tools, improving individual skills, enhancing teamwork and contributing to climate of respect and inclusion with entire flour mill team. - MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES In this role you will: Lead, supervise, educate, develop and motivate a manufacturing work group to achieve required production results, improve individual technical skills and abilities of individuals to work together. Ensure that production facilities and finished products meet the company and government standards of quality, sanitation and safety. Establish and sustain sound relationships with all employees in order to foster an environment where innovative methods are used to involve others in creative solutions to issues. Provide business leadership which demonstrates commitment to department and plant goals on a day to day basis. Facilitate, coach, counsel and guide the manufacturing work group to ensure that they have the ability to deliver results year in and year out. Function as a technical resource in areas of system operations and product requirements. Facilitate the effective interchange of information within and beyond work group. Drive continuous improvement with employees and systems through the General Mills continuous improvement program. A successful candidate will demonstrate having the following skills/experiences and specific behaviors/competencies: Skills/Experience Experience managing a work group in a manufacturing setting Ability to make timely decisions under pressure, sometimes with little information Ability to drive business and impact operational performance Experience working with CI pillars, tools and concepts as well as an understanding of qualitative and quantitative methodologies Competencies/Behaviors: Strong interpersonal skills, positive employee relations approach People leadership Ability to challenge norms and lead change Communications skills Commitment to results/execution, bias for action Solid technical ability Prioritization/organization - Minimum qualifications High School Dipolma Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment or other applicable experience (2-3 years preferred) Computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering – Agricultural, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, Foods, Packaging, Food Manufacturing Operations, Milling Science, Operations Management, and Supply Chain Management preferred 3+ years of relevant experience Previous exposure to unionized environment * LI-TL1 CB2 dlvr.it/736jn9
