Million Dollar Baby by Roel Velema I watched this week Million Dollar Baby with Clint Eastwood and Hilary Swank at their best. It reminded me of Paul when he said: ... I do not box as one beating the air ... lest ... I myself should be disqualified (1 Cor. 9:26,27). There may be days when we think that my spirit is broken, my days are extinct; the graveyard ready for me (Job 17:1), and our days like an evening shadow (Ps. 102:11). We may see no way out, no exodus, like the people of Israel in Egypt, and their spirit was broken (Ex. 6:9). The blessing of the New Covenant is that our spirits cannot be broken anymore and it’s NOW to “be poor in spirit”. “O LORD, make me know my end and what is the measure of my days; let me know how fleeting I am!” (Ps. 39:4). Our days are numbered and the first days are as important as the last days as we grow in the awareness of who we are. So whether we suffer physically, psychically, socially, financially, or just see our increase in age, we don’t have to bite off our tongues. My end, the measure of my days, are glorious when we number them (Ps. 90:12), and hearing turns into seeing (Job 42:5). Jacob Boehme showed that resurrection is about seeing, hearing and saying. The dark days are for faith to speak, because faith is spirit. The real boxing is not to fail the proof and believe that Christ as me in spirit cannot be broken. Jesus went to Calvary and “who appeared in glory and spoke of His departure [Gr. ‘exodus’], which He was about to accomplish at Jerusalem” (Luke 9:31). How lengthy the evening shadow may be, we don’t look at the appearances which have no power, but see upon the exodus, the way out, which already was there all the time. youtube/watch?v=IH7gQqpw7ok
