Milo, aka Milton Miles III, and his final butterfly - TopicsExpress

Milo, aka Milton Miles III, and his final butterfly kisses.... I wanted to thank everyone for their kind words about Milo, and Tommy and Beau. I has been a very long summer. The loss of Milo was a shock but it was for his own good. He had a mass in his intestines. The vet said it was either a foreign object or a tumor. If it was a tumor there was no hope but a foreign object could be removed after a long and painful exploratory surgery. Milo did not eat foreign objects. Milo only had a few teeth left so he couldn’t even picked up most foreign objects. I knew that it was a tumor and that he was in pain. It was his time. Milo was most likely 15. He was on the e-list at Maricopa East two years ago. I took him on as a foster but …… He was the sweetest boy who was extremely neglected in his early years. Despite the pain and the uncomfortableness Milo remained super sweet and friendly. He wanted to be close to you. He wanted a warm bed to sleep on and love. I was at least able to give him that in his final years. Milo returned my gift with so many precious gifts of his own. He made me laugh, he even made me mad at times but most of all he gave me love and kisses. Milo loved to give kisses. Not sloppy smooches, but sweet butterfly kisses to those he loved. He truly did it to show his love and thankfulness, you could see it in his eyes as he gave you just a few little kisses when you feed him, when you pet him or gave him tummy rubs. Even after cleaning out his ears, which must have been painful, he would give you little butterfly kisses because in his past no one cared enough to clean out his ears. As I said goodbye to Milo yesterday he sat in my lap looking up at me, giving me those very sweet butterfly kisses as he passed. It was sweet and peaceful. The love and the bond between us was there until the end and will continue as Milo taught me that you should always grow old gracefully and with love in your heart. It will be a very long while before I am “ok” again. I am so glad that I had Milo in my life. I want to encourage all my friends and family to consider adopting, fostering or supporting the senior dogs in shelters/rescues that need homes. You may find your Milo. Please consider supporting Forever Loved Pet Sanctuary as they help many seniors in need in the Phoenix area. Milo was very supportive of their mission and so am I. foreverlovedpets.org/ Dont be scared of pound pictures below is Milos pound picture from 2012 and then one of my favorite photos of Milo enjoying a sunny car ride from just a few months ago.
