Mimiko swears-in new Cabinet members.ON .17.june.2013 06:38.BY FAROUQ A A LADAN. STATE CHAIRMAN. (LP). ZAMFARA STATE.CHAPTER. About OndoState The new Ondo state Commissioners taking oath of office, at their swearing-in, at the Babafunke Ajasin Auditorium, in Akure,on Monday. ONDO State governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, on Monday, swore in 18 new commissioners in the state, with a warning to them to shun corruption. The governor, who spoke after the commissioners had taken oath of office, charged them to be wary of pressure from friends and family and not engage in actions that could tarnish their image. The new commissioners included Kayode Akinmade, Information; Gboye Adegbenro, Works; Sola Ebiseni, Environment; Eyitayo Jegede, Justice; Dayo Adeyanju, Health; Nicholas Tofowomo, Transport; Yele Ogundipe, Finance; Bekehimi Idiarhi, Sports;Akin Adaramola, Budget and Planning; Tunde Atere, Natural Resources, among others. According to him, there would be pressure from the society on the commissioners to engage in corrupt practices that could negatively affect the developmentof the state. He said: “Let me warn the new commissioners to be watchful and wary of advice and pressure from friends and family, as such pressure are capable of pushing you to engage in activities that can tarnish your image. Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko (right), administering oath of office to the new Commissioners, at the swearing-in ceremony of the new Cabinet members, at the Babafunke Ajasin Auditorium, in Akure, on Monday.“You should know that if you engage in such and it backfires, the first set of people to condemn you will be the people that mounted pressure on you and at the end of the day, everybody will bear his or her surname.” The governor, however, noted that the state executive council had always been a formidable and united one, which had been working for the development of the state. Mimiko also charged the new commissioners to support government’s effort at formulating and implementing policies and programmes that could make the state a reference point for others in the country. The governor tasked the commissioners to cooperate and work with all stakeholders in their respective ministries to enable the government to delivergood governance.
