Mimiko to commission Ore Caring Heart Market today Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko, will today commission an 850 stall Caring Heart Market in Ore. According to a statement by the state Commissioner for Information, Kayode Akinmade, in Akure the state capital on Sunday, the commissioning marks the fulfilment of the promise of the governor to ensure that residents of the state enjoy the dividends of democracy. The market, according to Akinmade, has 364 lock-up stalls and 480 open stalls. He said the market also has a police post, administrative block, a restaurant, three cold room blocks, eight toilet blocks and two blocks of fish and meat stalls. He explained further that the market was built to enable the people in the area benefit from the Caring Heart revolution going on in every part of the state, adding that the millennium market was specifically designed to meet the needs of traders in the area, as they play host to all classes of people from different parts of the country. on daily basis because of the location of the town, being gate way. Recall that Mimiko only recently commissioned a 1,000-shop international market in Igbokoda. The governor, at the commissioning, had vowed to continue to execute more people-oriented projects that will transform the lives of the people in the riverine areas of the state. According to the governor, the market was named international market because many of the traders are from the neighbouring countries, including Ghana, Cameroon, Togo, Gabon and Benin Republic. He described the market, which comprises 715 open stalls, 125 lock-up stalls, 32 meat slabs, six warehouses, three cold rooms, clinic, public conveniences, fire station and administrative block, as the hub of economic and commercial activities within the West African coastal region. He had noted that the stalls would be allocated to those who were trading under the sun and in the rain before the construction of the market, urging the traders to cooperate with government officials in respect of the markets and ensure its maintenance and regular cleaning.
