Mimiy Ikpeazu wrote- I went Nappy because I was always spending tons of money on hair and wanting to look like all the celebrities I saw on tv. I would gaze endlessly at their hair and skin and clothes and covet it. But I started to notice that most black women outside Nigeria had a distinct identity. They either had braids, natural hair, or dreads and they looked ethnic and gorgeous like African queens. I then realized I could never be white no matter how many weaves I fixed so I decided to embrace my natural African hair and now Im even happier that it makes me look more beautiful than any weavon. And my hair texture is awesomely amazing. Im in love with my hair I still wear weaves though thats the only protective styling I do and wash and gos.
