Mine were never challenging in many of the classical ways, but in their own unique struggles, and as a group. But these posts always make me tearful. I am not sure if its relief that others understand, or just the ongoing grief of seeing them each struggle, and the effort they put into succeeding in things others just take for granted. These days the challenges are different, they dont hurt less or cost less in human terms. And although i would never want to wish this tough life on them, i really do love each of them, just the way they are. For that I am eternally thankful. Tired, but thankful! :-)
