Minecraft 1.8 Bountiful Update is live! Weve got undersea temples with sea lanterns and sponges and laser-shooting spiked guardian fish things, rabbits and mutton, potions of jumping and slime blocks that act like trampolines, a new Spectator mode and a wider variety of commands including the ability to teleport entities, upgraded villager trade tiers with more specialized occupations (e.g. the smith split into Weapon Smith, Armorer, and Tool Smith), coarse dirt, red sandstone and pockets of three distinct decorative stone types (andesite, diorite, granite), banners and armor stands, fences and doors in all six colors of wood, visual variation for blocks (though not yet mobs or items) via texture rotation and multiple textures per type, rebalanced enchanting and anvil costs (with enchantments now requiring lapis), customizable worlds including world size (worlds can be finite with an impassable border) and difficulty set per world, and villagers who actually harvest and replant crops. Whew, thats a lot of updates. I am looking forward to trying them all out.
