Mini Rant on Social Innovation, Social Entrepreneurship and value :) Incomprehensible how obtuse we (most social justice advocates) can be, we *despise* capitalism, (or most of us do) we dont like celebrity, we dont like power, we are not very good at cooperating, we tend to be purist (idealism gone awry) - but when we have to (for example) organize a march for 100+ cities, we RUN to the celebs, to power (companies) beg for $$$ and *then* get hammered by our fellow-advocates who think we should not be raising any $$ to preserve/protect a dying earth - I often hear This should all be donated - my question to you is WHY? Why should brilliant thinkers and creative artists devote their time, energy and talent with no compensation? What are they going to eat? We dont want to be good enough for the animals, we want to be *BRILLIANT* for them.. give them our best, and the best cannot be pursued with begging ...... This is OLD wrong thinking... change it. Take that small thinking and put it away in dark room for good....
