Mini knitting rant, I am sure that 99% of you cannot relate. Scroll on by, I wont be offended. However, I just asked for feedback about a yarn in which I premised that it was an inexpensive yarn but wanted to know if the wavy part of the yarn was as wavy in comparison to the original. But my big mistake was mentioning the type of yarn which was... A yarn you can find in discount bins at cheap markets... Wait for it...acrylic...NOT Wool... God forbid... This attracted a surprising onslaught of wool snobbery which in my quiet, isolated knitting world had zero idea existed. Let me explain simply that most of us in the real world dont have trust funds, billionaire husbands or who are just simply too cheap to spend 40$ a skein on the real stuff. I lean on the poor yet too cheap..even if I was rich I would feel a tad dumb spending that much. I suspect that if I had never mentioned it being acrylic, I would have never heard a bit about it being inferior. Which leads me to wonder...how brainwashed are people to think that things matter that really do not matter...
