Miniature quilts are the most misunderstood form of quilting. Oh you look at a 15 square piece and you wonder if it could be done in a weekend. In fact quilt show producers feel the same way. Have you ever noticed the cash awards lists. Miniature prizes are always 1/2 a full size. One show only has a 1st and 2nd. There was only one show that recognized the miniatures as equals. That was the Quilters Heritage Celebration in Lancaster Pa. That was a wonderful show and closed forever 4 years ago. I love going to quilt shows, theyre like a giant show and tell. Thats where you get a good dose of inspiration and wanna. This site and others like it are just like a quilt show in your living room. How good is that? I have decided to post my first ever miniature quilt. I call it Autumn Mosaic Its 14.5 x 14.5 and has 2298 pieces of 100% cotton fabric. the blocks are modified log cabins and they are 1.5 inches square. I hope you enjoy it.
