Minister Kondra faces Leadership Tribunal Sally Pokiton Jan 22, 2015-PNG Loop North Fly MP and Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture Boka Kondra will appear for mention next week Monday where a trial date will be set for a Leadership Tribunal to commence. The North Fly MP was referred on November 11, 2014 by the Public Prosecutor Pondros Kaluwin to Chief Justice Sir Salamo Injia to establish a Leadership Tribunal. The PP’s actions follows section 27 (2) and (7)(e) of the Organic Law on the Duties and Responsibilities of Leadership. The Minister was referred by the Ombudsman Commission to the Public Prosecutor on July 7, 2014 on three allegations of misconduct in office. It was alleged he illegally used more than K180, 000 (K180, 499.96) of electoral funds between 2009 and 2010. A tribunal was set for February 2015 but will be brought forward to hear Kondra’s case. The prosecution team will be led by Camilus Sambua from the Public Prosecutor’s office. Today the prosecution team informed chairman of the tribunal Justice Salatiel Lenalia and senior magistrates Ignatius Kurei and Rosie Johnston that their office is ready for Kondra’s case to proceed. Kondra will appear for mention next week Monday 26 January for the tribunal to set a date for the actual hearing to commence.
