Minister, MP, DC express pain over the unfortunate Sine fire mishap DIPRO, PASIGHAT, Dec 9: Education Minister Tapang Taloh, Loksabha MP Ninong Ering and East Siang DC Nidhi Srivastava expressed their shock and pain over the unfortunate fire mishap that engulfed remote Sine village, under Boleng subdivision. The devastating fire, which started around 2.00 am on Monday last, quickly spread to adjoining huts and ultimately 32 houses and properties reduced into ashes in the congested village. Taloh who is also local MLA of the area, sought a detailed report on the unfortunate incident and directed ADC In-charge Boleng Gamtum Padu (EAC) to extend all required help and financial assistance to the victims as per government norms for their quick rehabilitation. He also asked to provide best medical assistance to the old injured man Takum Tatin at Boleng CHC. The minister informed that he has already taken up the issue with the government authority for relief and follow up actions. At the same time, he appealed the people to remain alert and be cautious as fire accident occurs frequently during the winter season. Taloh called upon the administration, PRIs, civil societies, NGOs and students to create awareness on fire mishaps amongst the rural folks. MP Ering who is presently attending the parliament session at Delhi, assured to visit Sine soon in his statement. He has expressed concern over repeated fire mishaps reported from various parts of the state. He said, “Such incident usually happen due to negligence and can be avoided if we practice preventive measures. However, if there is a fire, the main priority is to ensure that everybody can reach a safe place quickly.” Ering sanctioned of ten lakhs for CGI sheets and one lakh cash as financial assistance to the victims from his MPLAD fund. Meanwhile, DC Nidhi Srivastava informed she has been closely monitoring all developments and officers have been briefed regarding rescue and relief measures. As a precautionary measure, senior members of every village should guide and spread awareness on protective measure to their respective localities to ensure that there is no repeat of such an incident.
