Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid Monday said that writers and poets should strive to inculcate a mature humour, meaningful and productive satire in their work for societal reformation. He was addressing an evening with renowned columnist and playwright Ata ul Haq Qasmi arranged by Inter-University Consortium for Promotion of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities at a local hotel here. Addressing the gathering comprising vice chancellors of various universities, prominent writers, anchorpersons and notables from different walks of life, the minister said in the past, writers used to target individuals in their humour but Qasmi introduced its new form by highlighting the social evils effectively.
