Minister of Education, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau hit the ground running. Less than a week after assuming office, he wades into the lingering Polytechnic strike by calling for a round table discussion with ASUP members and representatives of the Federal government. Like the suave urbane gentleman teacher that he is, Mallam Shekarau appealed with the striking Don to suspend the strike and go back to work for the sake of the students, while he get back to Mr President so that they can work out a holistic solution acceptable to both parties. Like play, like play, that was the magic wand that was needed to end the over one year strike! And we must ask the question at this junction: What the Akpos was Nyesom Wike doing all this while that the strike lasted? There is no gainsaying that I am vindicated as one of those who accused Wike of dereliction. Instead of working in Abuja, he assigned himself another portfolio as The Dishonorable Minister of Rivers State And Amaechi Affairs. Week in, week out, Wike was in Rivers state causing one commotion or the other deceiving himself and his gullible supporters that he will be the next Gomina of Rivers state. See how Shekarau has exposed him in less than a week on the saddle? Instead of appealing with the striking Don, Wike was issuing out threat and orders like a Chief Thug in a Motor Park! Ladies and Gentlemen, biko forget the Agbero-ish Minister. It is with pleasure I announce the suspension of the over one year ASUP strike. Kudos to Mallam Shekarau! Shame on shameless Wike!!!!
