Minister of National Security Gary Griffith met on Wednesday with Members of the Estate Police Association along with members of the business sector, including the Security Owners and Managers Association of Trinidad and Tobago (SOMATT). Also present at the meeting were members of the Association of Security Companies of Trinidad and Tobago (ASCOTT). Discussions at the meeting related to the Private Security Network Bill and the consultations were key on the agenda. Matters related to the standardisation of training for the industry were also discussed. It was agreed that there was a need for businesses to understand the important and significant role that the private security industry plays in our country’s businesses and overall safety. Follow up meetings are scheduled to take place shortly.
