Minister of national Security Gary Griffith says he plans to prevent local gangs from setting up businesses designed to launder money and fund illegal activities. Responding to a report from the Head of the Criminal Gang and Intelligence Unit Superintendent Kenrick Edwards said that gangs were trying to set up legitimate looking business and use the profits to fund criminal acts. Minister Griffith says the Ministry is looking at ways to block them from doing so. He says the aim is to cut the financial reach of the gangs which will benefit law enforcement efforts.
