Ministers brother-in-law found guilty of allegedly manipulating his name in voter list Administration suspends him from post of sarpanch 10/11/2014 10:39:59 PM Asif Iqbal Naik KISHTWAR, Oct 11: In a major setback to Minister for Roads and Building Abdul Majid Wani, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Doda, issued a formal order regarding the suspension of Javed Iqbal Malik from the post of Bagla sarpanch. The decision of his expulsion from sarpanchs post by ADC Doda Immam Din comes under Panchayat Raj Act after Javed, a permanent resident of Halqa Panchayat Bharath of block Gundna, was found guilty of manipulating the record with the then BDO Ghat, BDO Gundna and other officials to get his name entered fraudulently in the voter list of halqa Panchayat of Bagla block Ghat at the time of filing his nomination papers after using his influence and political connections and contested the election from Bagla Panchayat. Soon after he had filed his nomination papers, it was challenged by Mohammad Hussain Shah alias Peer Hafizulla Shah who contested Panchayat elections and lost. Hussain Shah also approached the then District election officer and the Chief Electoral Officer well in time before filing of nomination papers wherein he requested to set right the records and not allow the manipulation and illegal entries in the voter list, but nothing was done forcing the appellant to file OWP No.591/2011 and CMP No.822/2011 in the State High Court which had directed the authorities to examine the issue before filing of nomination papers but the authorities had allowed him to contest the election. He also appealed the appellant authority but nothing was done forcing him to again approach the court on 29.08 2012 wherein the court again directed the appellant authority to decide the case within two weeks and again nothing was done, following which he again moved the court which then stayed the election and directed the appellant authority to decide the case. At last, ADC, Doda, Immam Din showed the guts and declared the election of Javed Iqbal Malik as null and void.
