It has 13 unions with 415885 households . All the union is accessible through rods. The population is around 415885.Maijkhar union is the mostpopulated and large union of this upazila. The upazila health complex is located northern side of the upazila. The socio-economic condition is satisfactory in this upazila. Most of the house is made of tin and the road condition is good. This Upazila health complex is an old one. We have two sub center run by doctors and sacmo . There are four private hospitals providing servises in this upazilas. CHCP and health assistants are providing service at community clinic. We also have 9 functional UH&FWC which is rin by FWVS. Chandina Upazila Health Complex Health Bulletin 2012 Page 5 Child health and MDG-4 (January-December, 2011) Neonatal Mortality Rate (January-December, 2011) Neonatal Mortality Rate is 1.87 per 1,000 live births. Description: MDG4 is to reduce by two-thirds the mortality rate among children under5. The indicators are under five mortality andinfant mortality. Last year Chandina Upazila reported 11250 live birth from all level facility.Most of the people live in village and prefer home deliver. We have I IMCI trained person at the upazila with an IMCI corner. We need to advese all the community people to report to hospital for any health related problem. It has been running well with its 31 beds. Because of its geographical situation and adjacent to the Dhaka- Chittagong highway the health complex has been playing an omportant role in the field of health service. People from neighbouring Debidwar, Burichang, Daudkandi and Barura upazila are taking health service from this health complex. Finally I am very glad to write this health bulleton of 2011.
