Ministry threatens to withdraw sponsorships The Ministry of Education, Skills and Development (MoESD) has threatened to withdraw sponsorships of all University of Botswana (UB) government sponsored students who are currently in class boycotts. According to a statement from the MoESD, the ministry is concerned about the ongoing class boycott and disruptions, and advices that students should report back to classes with immediate effect. “Students who are found to participate in or instigating class boycott or disruptions and threaten other students or engage in any conduct that may be interpreted as influence to other students not to attend classes will have their sponsorship withdrawn,” the statement reads. Furthermore, it states that the decision will also affect students who will engage in the same in other tertiary institutions.
