Minnesota Update - My apartment building in Duluth. Right down the street is my church which I walk to. There is a garage for this apartment complex and its really nice. Im on the first floor on the left, closest to the camera shot, so that big green tree on the left is blocking a couple of my windows. Im standing at the bus stop. So kind of a blessing today, I needed to take the bus because my car is in the shop. God blessed me big time allowing me an additional day of travel. When I picked up my car, the mechanic showed me the part that was broken and said he was amazed it was even drivable. Thank you, God, for keeping my car going. So Im pretty much substituting every day. Yesterday I subbed for a kindergarten class. Imagine a 50 year old balding middle aged beer bellied ugly dude like me dancing around the room with my guitar, singing the ABCs and Itsy Bitsy Spider to a bunch of kindergartners. They loved it. Id been at the school a couple of times before and kids are all yelling Hello, Mr. B and I dont remember their names but say hello anyways. Its a blast. Im going on an interview this afternoon for a state job as well, so things are looking up a bit. So right down the hill, and the camera is facing that way, is Lake Superior. And every morning, these huge tankers are floating by. Ill try to remember to take a picture soon, because its really hard to explain just how massive those ships are. I have discovered that people arent the initiating kind of friendly, so I have to do the talking and introduce myself and say hello to people. It freaks them out when I smile and say hello and they look at you like your a crazy person, but then they melt a little and start talking. Lucky for me Im not the shy type. I started talking to people on the bus today (mostly college students who looked miserable) and made them laugh a bit. I keep telling people Im new here and just a dumb old tourist and that opens them up to tell me how to get about town on the bus. So its snowed a couple of times here already, but they keep the building so warm, which I dont have to pay for! I have to open my windows some just so it doesnt get too hot. For those of you from or been to Torrington, this apartment looks very similar to the one Grandma and Grandpa Bagnaschi lived in for a while. Duluth is like Torrington weather wise.
