Minnesota Vikings rule Josh Freeman inactive Marc Sessler..... Around the League Writer We already knew that Christian Ponder would start at quarterback Sunday for the Minnesota Vikings, but who would back him up against the Dallas Cowboys remained a mystery. Until now. Josh Freeman will be inactive Sunday, the team announced. That leaves Matt Cassel in the No. 2 role after Freeman missed last week with the concussion he suffered in his first Vikings start back in Week 7. The recently acquired signal-caller has appeared in just one game since signing a one-year, $3 million deal with the Vikings last month.
