Minnesota is a model of how liberal politics can lead to job growth and economic expansion. In 2012, MN had the 5th fastest growing economy in the nation, and it has one of the lowest unemployment rates coming in at 5.3%. At the same time, MN increased taxes on the wealthy, expanded government health coverage for low-income individuals, expanded public-sector unions, and increased funding for public education. Conservatives preaching austerity should take note.
