Minor Memorial Features Julian at Reading Finale Entertainer Les Julian will perform Dreaming Aloud as part of the Minor Memorial Library’s Dig Into Reading program finale at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 10, at 23 South St. ROXBURY — Minor Memorial Library will host singer, songwriter and family entertainer Les Julian, in a performance of his program Dreaming Aloud, at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 10, at 23 South St. Mr. Julian’s program will include songs such as “Jump Right Over the Moon,” “Chocolate is My Favorite Vegetable” and “Frog in My Throat,” accompanied by guitar pyrotechnics. This program marks the finale of the library’s Dig Into Reading summer reading program. For every 10 books a child finishes reading, the Friends of the Roxbury Library will make a donation to the Roxbury Residents’ Relief Fund which helps Roxbury residents in need. After the performance, Children’s Services Coordinator Paula Sapse will present the donation to Jerrilynn Tiso, Roxbury’s agent for the elderly. Children who participated in the summer reading program will be able to pick up their Reading Certificate, door prizes and enjoy some cake at during this event. Children who planted sunflower seeds as part of the Let’s Plant Now program are invited to a party to share their sunflowers, eat some cake and receive a trophy at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, September 7.
