Minor gangraped by policemen in Kashmir Srinagar, Sept 14 (IBNS): A minor girl was allegedly gangraped by three policemen at Talwara in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, said reports. "... three cops including a Personal Assistant (PA) of SSP Reasi allegedly raped a Talwara migrant girl after kidnapping her from Reasi last night," Kashmir Times reported on Friday. "Police managed to arrest two cops including an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) police while the kingpin and main accused PA of SSP Reasi managed to escape during police raid. He was still at large when reports last came in," the newspaper said. The incident triggered protests by Talwara migrants who blocked roads and went for sit-in protests. "Police sources said that acting upon specific information, police team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Reasi Jagdev Singh conducted a raid on a rented accommodation of Personal Assistant (PA) of SSP Reasi at Marhi, at 2.30 AM," reported Kashmir Times. "The raiding cops nabbed SPO Karnail Singh, who was working as cook in the house of PA and an 18-year-old girl of Jij at present Talwara Migrant Camp. Head Constable Satvinder Singh PA of SSP Reasi and ASI Mahesh Mehta managed to escape from the house taking advantage of darkness," it said. The girl underwent a medical examination in the wee hours. "Police swung into action immediately and managed to arrest ASI Mahesh Mehta from Reasi in the morning while Head Constable Satvinder Singh was still at large," said the newspaper. 2013-09-14
