Minor girl raped in Kiphire town In a gruesome act, a 12-year old minor girl was raped in Kiphire town Wednesday. According to police, the accused identified as one Taliba Sangtam (25), son of Lisetong Sangtam of Kiphire village was arrested after a complaint was registered with the police. Police said the accused, a driver and victim’s neighbour, on the way after dropping some students to school, offered to drop the victim home, who also returning from school after dropping her younger brother. However, instead of dropping her, the accused took the girl to a secluded area (outskirts) and raped her twice, police said based on the complaint. The accused has been arrested and a case registered at Kiphire police station. (NPN)
