Minor rant: Scrolling down my feed, read some pretty disturbing response to why men hit/abuse women. Men and women trying to justify, rationalize, beating on a woman.....its sickening! I wont address men (Ill just delete you after I am sure youve read this) as it is not my place, as a woman, to teach you what your father should have taught. And, quite frankly, I am afraid my suppose sassyness may drive poor defenseless, easily coerce you, to hit your lady. To ladies living this madness, it is not your fault. No, you didnt drive him to it. No, your need and right to be treated as an equal, like, dare I say a human being, is not an invitation to be beat on like a man. No, it is not freaking biblical. If your church leaders support (if they dont talk about it, they support it) this madness, find another church. Submission does not equate doormat, punching bag and/or slave. No, everyone is not going through it and accepting it. Its not the worst of, for better or worst. Its the Last! Yes, you can leave. Your well being is not tied to a man still waiting for his testicles to descend. You CAN make it, even thrive, on your own. Love does not, should not, hurt. What drives a man to hit a woman? He lacks self control, probably raised in a home where Mommy lost herself, trying to make Daddy feel like a man. He is a sick, spineless, self hating, most often, cant stand up to another man, even when provoked, but finds power in putting women in their place.If you are being abused emotionally and/or verbally, its only a matter of time before he puts you in your place. Leave early, leave now. There is nothing to work out. An emotionally abusive man is sick, in need of help your love cant fix. What drives a man to hit a woman? Really doesnt matter. As women, we should learn what drives a woman to leave a man...abuse of any kind, is reason number one. Dont rationalize it. Dont ask why, ask how the hell do I avoid/get out/reclaim my life.
