Minor rant warning to all young (under 30) actors/singers/performers: If a casting director/executive director specifically asks for you for a show, the polite thing to do is RESPOND. To ignore email/facebook/text and phone calls is to get ignored for future projects. If you arent interested or available, say so! You forget how small a world the theatre world is and if you ignore one, you are ignoring all. Community Theatre is just that, a community. We are no less professional than an equity house (and in some cases, more professional and talented). To think you are above this at 20 something is narcissistic and vain. Get over yourselves and be grateful for the resume padding, reference padding experience. Youre not in NYC, youre in Jacksonville, Fl! Im blaming the up all night with a bad stomach for this rare rant from me. And now, back to my normal, upset stomach self.
