Minorities and charity HINDUS, Zoroastrians and other religious - TopicsExpress

Minorities and charity HINDUS, Zoroastrians and other religious minorities have left an everlasting legacy of social charity and human solidarity in Sindh. Solidarity is manifest in the first place by the distribution of goods and remuneration for work. They opened schools, colleges, established hospitals, built gymkhanas, stadiums, libraries, community centres, recreational and social development centres, parks and gardens. A few of them reported illegally occupied, a few still serving the suffering humanity and many in dilapidated condition. However, a visible error, nowadays abundantly widespread in our Sindhi society, is disregard for the law of human solidarity and charity, dictated and imposed, both, by our common origin and by the equality in rational nature of all men, whatever nation, whatever caste, creed, colour or community they belong to. I believe that socioeconomic problems which Pakistani society, particularly Sindhi society, is facing today can be resolved only with the help of all the forms of solidarity: solidarity of the poor among themselves, between rich and poor, of workers among themselves, between employers and employees in a business, solidarity among nations and peoples. National solidarity and social charity are a fundamental requirement of the moral order; national peace depends in part upon this. The opulent individuals of the religious minorities living in Sindh, particularly the Sindhi Hindus, are requested to revive that noble culture of social charity , public service , social service, etc., so that people may not die of starvation , thirst and diseases in drought-and famine-hit Thar and other areas of Pakistan. The virtue of solidarity must go beyond material goods. dawn/news/1096618/minorities-and-charity/print H.A. Islamabad
