Miracle report on John Smith, the teen from CMS who fell through - TopicsExpress

Miracle report on John Smith, the teen from CMS who fell through the ice on Monday, from the ER doctor. The boy had been pulseless for greater than 20 minutes when we brought his mother into the room. I remember her sitting down in front of him, in front of the half dozen nurses, the respiratory techs, the paramedics and techs who were fatigued from the prolonged CPR. We had at least two emergency physicians assisting in resuscitation along with a pharmacist and many other department personnel. She was crying as is to be expected, wailing that her son had just passed away. And then she cried out I believe in a mighty God and He can perform miracles. Lord please bring John back to us. God, please send your Holy Spirit to heal this boy! We continued to resuscitate the young man knowing the situation is grim. Being under water for more than 20 minutes coming to the hospital without a pulse, and at temperature that is incompatible with life. CPR being performed for more another 20 minutes after he arrived at the emergency department. None of the prognostic indicators look good. But a mothers love and more importantly a mothers prayer can overcome all obstacles. Gods sovereignty knows no bounds... This John, whom you know and love, was on the gurney in front of me at that very moment with no signs of life, dead. I had exhausted all interventions in my scientific armamentarium without even a hint of success.... No sooner did Johns mother call on the Holy Spirit to bring her son back to him than the monitor started that rhythmic beat, a pulse could be felt in his groin and his carotid artery He reports that numerous resuscitation attempts with medicines, CPR, breathing via a plastic tube, warming devices, heated IV fluids were all ineffective. What was effective was when Johns mother called on the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit came in that room and started that boys heart once again. We had been actively warming him from the 88 degrees temperature of his arrival up to 94.6. Thats when his heart was jump started by the Holy Spirit listening to the request of a praying mother. Immediately his temperature plunged back to 88 showing us the futility of our CPR compared to the efficiency of the natural beating heart as designed by God. Blood was moving through his body sending the icy fluids from his extremities back to his core plunging his temperature dramatically. Cold as he was, he was alive. Even starting to try to take his own breaths as we readied him for the helicopter flight to Cardinal Glennon Childrens Hospital. ...I know that God can do more than we ever imagined....I was privileged to witness a miracle. I was preparing myself to give a mother the final bad news that her son was gone from this world. She had more faith in God than I did. She called on God and God brought him back. God, thank you for the gift of each day that you give us with the ones we love... Thank you for covering us with the saving blood of Jesus Christ which saves us from our sin and ushers each of us into everlasting life with you in heaven. Amen Kent Sutterer DO, Emergency Department, SSM Saint Joseph Hospital West
